Idol Pleasures

Fuhri Misasaki – Deux – 2009 – 1 volume

I reviewed this for the weekly Manga Minis column at Manga Recon, so check it out over there.  Notably, all the series in the column this time around are things that I’ve read and enjoyed (Slam Dunk, We Were There), am planning on reading and enjoying (One Thousand and One Nights), or just bought out of curiousity (Say Please).  I wholeheartedly agree with everything said in the entire column this week.

I really liked Idol Pleasures, but I was a bit disappointed only because it was the first Deux Press book I’ve read that didn’t totally knock my socks off.  It was still a good older couple-type BL book, and there was a lot of fun stuff going on, but it just wasn’t quite up to the standards of, say, Future Lovers or I Shall Never Return.
